נשמע מעניין ומבטיח מאוד - לקידום השימוש באמולטורים:
They found any number of issues could crash the test emulator that had nothing to do with the quality of the code itself.

Google wanted to help the developer community solve this problem, so it worked with the LinkedIn engineering team to come up with the solution that would become Test Butler.

It solved a number of the problems, including shutting off background animations automatically so they wouldn’t interfere with testing, disabling those pesky crash dialogues, sending the info to a harmless log instead and preventing screen locking, ensuring the emulator doesn’t go to sleep and cause a test failure.

Test Butler also deals with any permissions issues for you, including enabling or disabling Wi-Fi, changing the device orientation, testing location services and locale testing for multi-language testing. Perhaps most important, Test Butler has what’s called “signature-level permission” to automatically access any signature-level functions

  • People Problems

People Problems For my lightning talk at Cambridge Agile Exchange last night I tried to persuade the audience that, even in today's agile world of self-organising teams and coaches, value can still be found in the traditional management literature.I talked about three books which unashamedly acknowledgement that everything revolves around people: Managing Humans by Michael Lopp Behind Closed Doors by Johanna Rothman and Esther Derby Managing Yourself and Others by Gerald M. Weinberg That's right.Everything. People.Literally. Everything. Is. People. In ten minutes I couldn't do more than pull out a handful of key messages and these are the ones I chose: Do be congruent. Do be open. Don't be a prick. They seemed to like it. Particularly the last one. Here's the slides: Image:Cambridge Agile Exchange

  • Five for Friday – November 15, 2019

Here we go again… A Video of my talk at Oredev last week is available I enjoyed this opinion on the invalidity of the Iron Triangle Similarly, I liked the conclusions of this article on 7 Leadership Lessons over 2.5 years Martin Fowler posted an insightful look at waterfall, iterative, and agile processes I was lucky enough to watch the Seattle Sounders FC win their second MLS cup in person. No link – just a celebration photo. (potentially) related posts: Five for Friday – July 26, 2019 Five for Friday – June 14, 2019 Five for Friday – January 11, 2019
